You know that guy who we’re always promoting? Yeah, Rukunetsu, that’s him. Seems he was contacted to do some music for the FGC event, Hadocon IV that took place on November 17th. Well now that event is over Rukeunstu has made those tracks public for everyone’s listening pleasure, how thoughtful was that.
You can pick up the tracks zipped up by going to Mediafire or you can listen to them individually over at Soundcloud.
I happen to get emails from time to time asking about certain things regarding the radio station, however I seem to get these two questions a lot and I’m pretty sure that most people also have these questions in the back of their minds so I’d figured instead of emailing people directly I’d put it out there for all to see.
Question #1: Why don’t you have the ability to select songs from a request list?
Answer: We originally had a request system in place but it was something I made using bits of code from several applications and while the result was a functional request system it was buggy… very buggy. Sometimes it would be fine and then the next week or so it would crash on a constant basis. Many of our original fans remember that =( We may revisit that again depending on how well the re-launch goes.
Question #2: Why dont’t we use HTML5 instead of Flash since we can’t use Flash on our iOS devices.
Answer: While that is something I’ve looked into the main issue is the HTML5 scripts / applications that are current for streaming with Shoutcast simply aren’t up to par with the Flash ones. I’m a pretty huge Android person so I can relate since you can’t use Flash on Google’s Jelly Bean (4.1.x) unless you sideload it using an browser that supports it, which of course not everyone is going to do. However that is why we provide the stream links so you can still stream to iTunes, Winamp, Real Audio or any player that supports *.m3u or *.pls files. As those HTML5 applications develop and mature we’ll look into them again or when I find someone who wants to re-code the entire engine.

Listen up people, all jokes aside, today is a very important date for the whole of the United States of America. Today is the final day that you can get out there and vote, a vote that very well make the deciding factor on who’ll be our next President for the next 4 years.
Obama or Romney those are your chooses and rather than have you scream in content on which you feel would be best suited to run this great nation I’d rather you let your vote do the talking. So get moving! Go vote, don’t sit there, be about it!
And remember in the end if you didn’t vote then you really won’t have anyhing to complain about if the the guy who you wanted to win didn’t.
GO VOTE! FOR GREAT JUSTICE!
